Joan Jean Chan is an experienced educator from the Philippines, having served as an Elementary Grades teacher for 14 years from 1987 to 2001, and as a Special Education teacher for 17 years from 2002 to 2019. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Saint Louis University in Baguio City, Philippines, and has pursued her Master’s studies at the Philippine Normal University in Manila. She also volunteered with Special Olympics Philippines. Throughout her career, she has taught and worked with children with various disabilities, including visual impairments, hearing impairments, autism, global developmental delay, cerebral palsy, and multiple disabilities involving visual impairments.
